How to quickly delete all screenshots
In a year you collect thousands of screenshots: receipts, addresses, chats, codes. You need a handful of them, but all of them take up space. Here is how to get rid of them in a few minutes.
On iPhone
- Open Photos and go to Media Types → Screenshots (in recent iOS, scroll down to Media Types).
- Tap Select. To select many at once, slide your finger across a row of thumbnails and then drag down — selection extends row by row.
- Tap the trash icon and confirm.
- Open Recently Deleted and delete the screenshots for good — otherwise the space is not freed for another 30 days.
On Android
- Google Photos: Library → Screenshots. Long-press the first photo, then drag — everything up to that point gets selected.
- Samsung Gallery and others: Albums → Screenshots, select with a long press.
- With a file manager: screenshots live in Pictures/Screenshots or DCIM/Screenshots — you can clear the whole folder.
Do not forget the trash: Google Photos keeps deleted items for up to 60 days, Samsung Gallery for 30 days.
When some screenshots matter
Deleting everything at once is scary: there may be tickets, bank details or an important chat in there. Ticking a thousand images is slow. It is faster to go through them one by one and decide immediately: Nixo has a dedicated Screenshots filter — swipe left to delete, right to keep, and everything unwanted is removed with a single confirmation.
How to stop collecting screenshots
- Delete “just for a minute” screenshots right away: on iPhone, tap the thumbnail after taking one → Done → Delete Screenshot.
- On iPhone you can copy a screenshot without saving it: choose Copy and Delete from the same menu.
- Go through your screenshots once a month — it takes a couple of minutes.
Free up space in a couple of minutes
Nixo shows your library one photo at a time: swipe left to delete, right to keep. Videos and screenshots have their own filters, and everything is processed on your phone.
